With three sizes to choose from, most people will find one to suit.

The sizes recommended by Gaiam are:

Small (purple) – 22″ (55cm) – for people between 5′ and 5′ 5″ tall.

Medium (green) – 26″ (65cm) – for people between 5′ 6″ and 5′ 11″ tall.

Large (blue) – 30″ (75cm) – for people between 6′ and 6′ 3″ tall.

How to Use Your Gaiam Total Body Balance Ball Kit

There are fitness ball exercises to tone and strengthen all of the body’s major muscle groups.

Some fitness balls, including the Gaiam Balance Ball, do double-duty as a seat.  Used this way, your core, thighs, and abs will get a passive toning workout due to the slight shifting of position required to balance on the ball.

Regularly sitting on a fitness ball will also improve your posture.  I use mine while working on my computer and watching television.

The resistance band that comes with the Gaiam Total Body Balance Ball Kit will allow you to perform strength/isometric exercises that target all of the body’s major muscle groups.

The band’s resistance is classed as medium.  By repositioning your grip on it and moving your hands further apart, you can lighten the workload.

By holding the band with your hands closer together, you can increase the resistance for a more intense workout.

If, after a while, your workouts feel too easy, add another band to increase the resistance.  This is known as stacking.  Alternatively, use a stronger band.
